ENSEMBLES 2025

Caulfield Grammar School - Choir

Caulfield Grammar School - Choir

The Caulfield Grammar School Choral and Voice Program has experienced steady growth in recent years, expanding in both diversity and depth across the Primary, Middle, and Senior School levels. With twelve skilled choral directors and over 430 students actively involved, the program offers a broad array of opportunities ranging from non-auditioned choirs that provide all students with the chance to explore singing, to auditioned chamber vocal groups for those seeking a more focused and challenging choral experience. Supported by a team of eleven dedicated singing teachers, the program fosters strong participation in both contemporary and classical voice training, with many students also engaging in the School's dynamic musical theatre programs. Our Touring Choir, an auditioned ensemble made up of singers from the Middle and Senior Schools at both the Wheelers Hill and Caulfield campuses, are incredibly excited to be embarking on a European tour. Alongside the music we have prepared, the choir is also eager to share our story and showcase a diverse range of repertoire from both Australian composers and other international artists. This journey represents a valuable opportunity for our students to deepen their skills and experiences, all while staying true to the core vision, purpose, and values of Caulfield Grammar School. We look forward to the growth and connections this tour will bring, both musically and personally. Our Touring Choir is Directed by Naomi Osborne (Head of Voice), and accompanied by Meredith Woinarski (Head of Keyboard) and Simon Walter (Caulfield Campus Head of Music).

Conductor

Naomi is a passionate and dedicated musician, voice teacher, choral director, and performer with over twenty years of experience in the music and education fields. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Voice and Violin. She was awarded a Voice scholarship, allowing her to complete an Honors year at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In the UK, Naomi began her operatic career with Scottish Opera, later performing with the English National Opera. Upon returning to Australia, she worked with companies such as Opera Australia, Melbourne Opera, and the Melbourne Symphony Chorus. Naomi’s first experience in Music Theatre was with The Sound of Music with SEL, where she played the role of Liesl. Over the years, Naomi has had the privilege of performing and coaching vocalists with professional and community theatre groups, including The Production Company, Frost, and Disney, in both Australia and England. Her growing passion for music theatre led to an opportunity as Associate Music Director on The Producers, which inspired her to pursue a Master of Music Studies (conducting) at Melbourne University. Naomi holds an Education Degree from Monash University and has taught voice and violin at Kilmore International School, St Leonard’s College (Head of Strings), Charles Sturt University, and Monash University. Currently the Head of Voice at Caulfield Grammar School, she teaches private tuition, and multiple choirs. Naomi takes great joy in supporting the growth and development of students within the vocal and choral programs at Caulfield Grammar School and is deeply appreciative of the ongoing support from her talented colleagues. Naomi also teaches on-line Voice lessons to Post Graduate students at Durham University in England.
