Shanghai Fushan Foreign Language Primary School Choir
Established in 1996, the school choir has developed its own art characteristic, featured as “sweet in voice, harmonious voice parts, fine and smooth vocal processing” through years of practice. Now the choir has about 80 student members with the average age of 12. Within the years, the choir has been coached by some famous choral conductors, like Mr. Lin Zhen, who left his high remarks.
The school has participated in quite a few competitions, such as the municipal art festival, Pudong art festival, etc. The choir has also visited Australia and Austria.
The school choir has won:
the First Prize of Pudong Cuckoo Choral Festival in 2002; and
the First Prize of Pudong Art Festival (Chorus) in 2007; and
the First Prize of Municipal Students Musical Festival (Chorus) in 2007; and
the Bronze Award of Sydney Musical Festival in 2008; and
the First Prize of Pudong Art Festival (Chorus) in 2015
Fang Ying
Conductor
At present, Ms. Fang Ying is a music teacher of Shanghai Fushan Foreign Language Primary School, holding a concurrent post as the conductor of the school choir. As a key teacher of Pudong New Area, Shanghai and the leading music subject teacher of the school, she is good at teaching chorus. She was once the student of the famous choral educator Mr. Xu Wuguan and endeavored to find out the effective ways to coach the choir, like vivid similes, simulation and etc.
Led by Ms Fang Ying, the school choir won:
the Second Prize of National Comprehensive Art Festival Competition in 1998; and
the Special Award in Choral Competition of Yangpu District, Shanghai; and
the First Prize of Municipal October Singing qualifying competition in 1999; and
the First Prize of Cuckoo Choral Festival in 2001; and
the First Prize of Pudong Students Art Festival (Chorus) in 2011 & 2015; and
the First Prize of Municipal Students Musical Festival (Chorus) in 2007 & 2012;
And the school choir visited Germany in 2011.
