Ravenswood Vocal Ensemble
The Ravenswood Vocal Ensemble is a female choir made up of students from Ravenswood School for Girls in Sydney, Australia. The choir consists of girls from Year 7 to Year 11 (ages 12-16). They perform at eisteddfods, festivals, chapel services and school functions in Sydney and this is their first international tour. The choir performs a range of repertoire which includes sacred music, traditional and contemporary art music, popular songs, folk songs and musical theatre arrangements.
Michael Varecka
Conductor
The choir is directed by Mr Michael Varecka who is the Coordinator Performing Arts 7-12 at Ravenswood School for Girls. Michael studied the piano with Gerard Willems whilst completing a Bachelor of Music Education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and holds a Master of Education specialising in Music technology through Deakin University.
Michael composes and arranges music for vocal ensembles, orchestras and popular ensembles.
