Shanghai Yangpu District Children's Palace Folk Music
The Chinese orchestra from the Children’s Palace in Yangpu district (Shanghai Students’ Art Troupe Chinese Orchestra II) is an excellent team among the same kind of orchestras for children in Shanghai. It is awarded model one in every qualification by Shanghai Education Committee. With the instruction of the experts from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the students in this orchestra take active part in different kinds of activities, aimed at developments in an all-round way and leading this kind of troupe.
The orchestra ranked the top ONE in many contests in Shanghai or in China.
2008-2011 Shanghai Students’ Art Festival(Orchestra Group), they got the first prize every year.
Shanghai Chorus Competition (Orchestra Part)held in October, they had four gold medas.
2004-2010 Spring of International Music Festival Shanghai(Music and Dancing for Kids), they gained seven gold medals.
2004 They got the gold medal in "Qunxing Award", which is the top music prize rewarded by the government to the public.
2007 The second Natioanl School Children Musical Performance, they received the first prize.
2010 The Third National School Children Musical Performance, they obtained the first prize.
The students of this orchestra visited many countries, such as Austrulia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia. Their performances received high appreciation.They often make culture exchange with teenagers in America, Russia, UK, Singapore etc. They alao attend some large-scale performances, like open ceremony of Shanghai International Art Festival, the 50th/60th-anniversary celebration of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. Mr Gong Xueping, Director of Shanghai People's Congress inscribed their name and encouraged all the teachers and students to work harder and creat magnificence again.

Mr Cao Jianhui, Shanghai special-grade senior music teacher, the conductor of Yangpu District Children's Palace Chinese Orchestra (Shanghai Students’ Art Troupe Chinese Orchestra II), the organizer to bring up good and famous music teachers, the member of Shanghai senior music teacher professional evaluation Committee, vice-chairman of Shanghai Music Teaching Research Committee, vice-chairman of Shanghai society of musicians for kids Committee.
Mr Cao Jianhui teach the students to play the dulcimer (yangqin). His teaching methods focus on four words "soft, straight, accurate, quick". His students got many international or national prize.As a conductor, Mr Cao eastalished a teaching pattern just like a pyramid, the students can get more from primary school to college. On innovation, he composed (Hope) to win the "Qunxing Award", published (Rainbow over the Huangpu River-Fork Music Melody for Performance). With the instruction of Mr Cao, a large number of students as Xihan, Qian Xiyuan become musical experts. He is also a editor of some books: "Music Teaching Innovation", "Traditional Music Teaching Practice and Research for Teanagers"
Mr Cao Jianhui plunges into teaching career, loves his all students. He is a model for all the teachers.
