Shanghai Huangpu Youngster's Activity Center Spring Children's Choir
Shanghai Spring Children’s Choir was founded in Oct 1996 by Shanghai Huangpu Youngster’s Activity Center with 300 members, from different local schools, including primary, high schools and universities. Since the foundation, Spring Children’s Choir has developed rapidly.
The major achievements of Spring Children’s Choir:
1996 the first prize in Shanghai Students Art Festival;
2001 ‘top ten chorus” in Shanghai International Music Festival “Spring of the century” chorus invitational tournament; the first prize in the competition of“Pu Gong Ying”,the highest level of youth art in China, held by Culture Department;
2003 Golden medal in Shanghai Oct singing competition;
2004 Golden medal in 3rd choir Olympics, Bremen, category of youth voice;
2005 No.1 of the first Prize in Shanghai Student Art competition;
2008 No. 1 of the Golden medal in the 2nd Children’s Choir Competition in China;
2009 No.1 of the category G1(Children’s voice) in the 6th Johannes Brahms International Choir Festival and Competition, and the “Johannes Brahms Choir Prize”;
2010 the golden diploma in the 3rd Students Choir Competition, held by Ministry of Education. Golden medal in 6rd choir Olympics, Bremen, category of youth voice;
2011 the champion of the category of children’s voice and also the category of folklore, 29 Festival Internacional de Música de Cantonigròs
Shen Wanjun
Artistic leader and conductor
Shen Wanjun, master of music education. As the conductor of Shanghai Huangpu Youngster’s Activity Center Spring Children’s Choir from 2006. The yourg conductor leads the choir to achieve many honor in Shanghai Student’s Art Festivel from 2007 untill now, and won the first prize in the category of folklore and the category of children’s choir in 29 Festival Internacional de Música de Cantonigròs.
