SCL ON TOUR SPECIAL GUEST FROM SOUTH AFRICA
Duduza Serenade

The evergreen Duduza Serenade Choir is an innovative crusade born as "A Beacon of Hope in the Face of Adversity " In the heart of Duduza Township, a poignant community once marked by forced removals, heightened political tension, high unemployment, and social struggles, a visionary leader, Hamilton Motloung, dared to dream of a better future and used his unwavering dedication and perseverance to successfully establish the choir, 22 years ago. "Duduza," meaning "to comfort" is testament to the choir's mission, TO COMFORT. Born out of a desire to transform the lives of young people, the choir has become a powerful vehicle for change. The choir's repertoire features indigenous and choral gospel music that has captivated audiences across South Africa and beyond, helping the choir members overcome personal struggles, substance abuse and find purposeful solace in music. Despite live performance that are often hard to come by, the choir relies on donations and public fundraising efforts to survive. This is a crusade in motion, a journey well-travelled and still we rise.
