Ballarat Grammar Senior Strings
The Orchestra comprises vibrant and passionate individuals who share a love of music. The members demonstrate an eager interest, constantly discovering and performing new repertoire. This young and enthusiastic group of musicians continually extend themselves by broadening their knowledge and welcoming new challenges.
The ensemble takes pride in performing at events and concerts within the school and wider community, relishing the opportunity to demonstrate their level of skill and interpretations of diverse genres.
The String Orchestra continues to develop and discover repertoire from their homeland, including works by Melbourne born composer, Nicholas Buc, and former Ballarat Grammar student, Louis Stevens. The Orchestra is delighted to have the honour of performing original repertoire by Australian composers on this tour.
The camaraderie and support within the ensemble inspires and motivates all those involved.
Ballarat Grammar String Orchestra strives to perform repertoire that represents their level of competency and allows their passions and individualism to shine.
Nicole (Nicci) Dellar

Nicci Dellar commenced her violin studies at the age of seven in Melbourne, Australia. She completed Year 12 at the Victorian College of the Arts School, before furthering her tertiary studies at the Conservatorium of Music in Vienna, Austria.
Nicci completed a double degree in Performance and Teaching before commencing her professional career as a performer and teacher in Vienna.
During her 12 years in Austria, she developed a deep and broad understanding of performance styles and was fortunate to perform with well-established chamber and orchestral ensembles, that toured Europe and international destinations. Her professional growth was enhanced by fully immersing herself in all elements of performance and embracing different learning styles.
Nicci returned to Australia in 2002 and has held senior teaching roles at Melbourne’s private schools, culminating in her current role as Head of Strings at Ballarat Grammar. She has successfully introduced her global experience into her teaching style and ensemble performances. She is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the violin and continues to motivate her students with challenging repertoire and encouragement to perform their best.
