AYSO Orchestra

 

AYSO Orchestra is a youth orchestra permanently directed by Maestro Teresa Satalino. AYSO musicians come from all over Italy and attend OrchestrAcademy, an orchestral training academy that offers professionalizing paths to support the careers of young musicians. OrchestrAcademy is a valuable trait d'union between the system of High Artistic and Musical Education and the world of work in professional orchestras, as musicians are offered the valuable opportunity to work with conductors and first-part musicians from major national and international orchestras. First-part musicians from Orchestre National de France, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra,Teatro alla Scala, Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Torino, Orchestra Nazionale della RAI, Teatro della Fenice, Teatro San Carlo have been guests of AYSO. In 2022, AYSO Orchestra triumphed at the prestigious Summa cum Laude International Competition in Vienna, winning first prize in the Youth Symphony Orchestras category. The orchestra had the privilege of performing in the Golden Hall of Musikverein. AYSO musicians were also hosted by the Italian Embassy in Vienna for a concert at the Italian Cultural Institute. AYSO inaugurated 2023 with in a major concert conducted by M° Teresa Satalino at the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari, enjoying great success with audiences and critics. AYSO also played for Como Città Classica Festival at the Teatro Sociale in Como, International Festival of the Walton Foundation in Ischia, and Napoli Teatro Festival at the Royal Palace. The orchestra participated in the International Festival of Youth Orchestras in Florence, collaborating with the CMC Orchestra of New York, and took part in Italian Brass Week at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino performing a world premiere under the sponsorship of the Italian Space Agency. In 2022 OrchestrAcademy received the prestigious recognition of the Ministry of Culture for the AYSO Young Soloists project.

Conductor

Teresa Satalino graduated very young in piano and continued by graduating in Composition, Conducting, Jazz Music and Music Education. She also graduated in Literature and then she earned a master’s degree in Conducting and she specialized in Jazz Arrangement and Composition and in Film Music Composition with Ennio Morricone at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. In 2018 she became the Artistic Director of OrchestrAcademy, which in a few years has become a national reference point. She is the principal conductor of AYSO Orchestra and recently she founded and conducts AYSO Young Soloists, an instrumental ensemble that in 2022 received the prestigious recognition of the Ministry of Culture. In her role as artistic director, she has set up a modus operandi based on working methods aligned with the highest international standards. She collaborates with soloists and musicians first parts of the most prestigious orchestras: Orchestre National de France, Concertgebouw, Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra, Teatro alla Scala, Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Torino, Orchestra Nazionale della RAI, Teatro della Fenice, Teatro San Carlo. She conducted a world premiere performance at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the patronage of the Italian Space Agency and the first Italian performance of Ayre, a cycle of folk songs by Osvaldo Golijov. She conceived and directed the project Apulia, which debuted in Smetana Hall in Prague and replicated in Italy. She is professor at the Nino Rota Conservatory in Monopoli.
