Orchestra Magister Harmoniae di Associazione Musica Insieme APS
The Magister Harmoniae Orchestra was born within the Musica Insieme APS Association of Grugliasco (TO) in 2010 on the occasion of a concert for the AIRC, an organization with which the Association has been collaborating since 1997. The permanent conductor of the Orchestra is the violinist M° Elena Gallafrio, Artistic Director of the Musica Insieme APS Association and of the Agnese Pogliano Music School. It is a high-quality artistic reality that encompasses the musical and orchestral training of the students of the Association's School of Music, with the involvement of teachers and professional musicians sensitive to this project. Since 2010 this work has generated events and shows, throughout the country, of great artistic and emotional impact, with the consent of the public and critics, which have already involved some important artists of the music scene, such as Stefano Bollani, Giò Di Tonno, Fabio Gurian, Alberto Varaldo, Enrico Dusio, Silvio Bresso, Dario Destefano, DiscoInferno and many others. Since 2015, the Magister Harmoniae Orchestra has staged events and concerts in Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Sicily and Basilicata. Among the most prestigious events were the concerts held in 2019 in Matera on the occasion of "Matera European Capital of Culture" and in Sicily in 2018, on the occasion of the anniversary of Peppino Impastato's death in Cinisi and in Palermo, at "Casa di Paolo Borsellino". In November 2019 the Magister Harmoniae Orchestra performed with Stefano Bollani at the Turin Conservatory and in July 2022 in Florence under the Loggia dei Lanzi in a Piazza della Signoria packed with over 5000 people for the "Florence Youth Festival", representing Italy, also performing in the prestigious Terme Tettuccio di Montecatini. Simultaneously with the realization of the events, the Magister Harmoniae Orchestra engages in National and International Competitions obtaining numerous First Prizes, Scholarships and Awards, such as in Turin, Pesaro, Sogliano al Rubicone, Verbania, Ozegna and in Matera in the year of “Matera European Capital of Culture 2019”.
Elena Gallafrio

Elena Gallafrio, founded in 1992 the Musica Insieme APS Association of Grugliasco (TO) together with Concetta Rinaldi and Gabriella Gallafrio. Today she is its Artistic Director. She conducts and trains the Musica Insieme Youth Orchestra and the Magister Harmoniae Orchestra, the two orchestras of the APS Musica Insieme Association. Over the years she has been violin and ensemble music teacher in the Association, training musicians who are now part of the Association's teaching staff. She graduated in Violin in 1994 at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin under the guidance of Maestro Silvio Bresso. She has been awarded in some national and international competitions such as the "City of Vittorio Veneto Award", "Lorenzo Perosi Award of Biella" and "International City of Stresa Award". From 1994 to 2004 she was a member of the Mantua Chamber Orchestra, where she carried out her orchestral and chamber music training led by great conductors including Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, stable conductor of the chamber group. With the Mantua Orchestra she has performed concerts and tours throughout Italy, Europe and America, collaborating with musicians such as Alexander Lonquich, Uto Ughi, Misha Maisky, Giuliano Carmignola, Andrea Lucchesini, Mario Brunello, Ezio Bosso and Gidon Kremer. She has also collaborated with the Teatro Regio Orchestra of Turin, the Rai National Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Turin, the Chamber Orchestra Archi della De Sono. She has performed concerts and recordings in classical chamber ensembles but also in jazz and pop, collaborating with the Unione Musicale of Turin, the Jazz Club of Turin and with artists such as Trio Debussy, Stefano Bollani, Emanuele Cisi, Fabrizio Bosso, Subsonica, Pooh , Africa Unite, Dionne Warwick. Since 2021 she has been a violin teacher at the IC Marconi Antonelli in Turin.
