ENSEMBLES 2024

Brockton School's World Music Program: Intermediate Specialized Ensemble

Brockton School's World Music Program: Intermediate Specialized Ensemble

Brockton School’s World Music Program (WMP) Intermediate Specialized Ensemble (ISE) has been thrilling audiences in Canada and around the globe for a decade and a half. The WMP’s highest aspiration is "to foster a compassionate, global consciousness through the co-creating and performing music." The ISE has performed in Canada, China, Greece, the USA, Scotland, England, Austria, Czech Republic, and Germany. The group has received invitations to perform in festivals such as the Aberdeen International Youth Festival (Scotland), the Summa Cum Laude Festival (Austria), the Con Brio Festival (Canada), and the International Sounds of Spring Festival at Carnegie Hall, where the group took home a gold medal. Twice the program has been recognized by the UNESCO-founded International Society of Music Education. WMP students are most at home when they are sharing the joy of music, whether that be for a large audience or a small gathering. Students regularly give performances in support of charitable organizations, and they have offered music in many community-based, multicultural, multigenerational, and educational contexts. ISE students love collaborating with other Arts-based and musical groups, and they have prepared repertoire for collaborations with students and professional ensembles from various parts of the world.
