Tang-Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra

 

The Tang-Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra, founded by conductor Tang Shih Chieh, has been dedicated to artistic performances and music education in recent years. We invite local musicians, music class students, and music enthusiasts from Taoyuan to join us in organizing concerts. Over the past 8 years, the Tang-Jazz Philharmonic has held concerts at various venues including the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Yuxian Hall at Taipei University of Education, the International Performance Hall at Taoyuan Women’s Center, Bade Performance Hall, Pingzhen Branch of Taoyuan City Library, Danan Church, Chocolate Republic, and Guangming Park. Rooted in classical music and incorporating elements of jazz, choral, musical theater, and film scores, we aim to express ourselves on stage, enjoy music, move the audience, and heal hearts with music. We care for the community, support the vulnerable, and integrate local businesses and culture. We also welcome more music lovers and art enthusiasts to join us on our journey. In addition to performing classical pieces, the Rooted in classical music and incorporating elements of jazz, choral, musical theater, and film scores, we aim to express ourselves on stage, enjoy music, move the audience, and heal hearts with music. In addition to performing classical pieces, the Tang-Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra actively arranges and composes its own music. Under the leadership of conductor Tang Shih Chieh, we hope to bring a warm and fresh force to the classical music scene in Taiwan.

Musician Tang Shih Chieh is one of the few violinists/conductors who bridges the gap between classical and jazz. With a concept that combines classical and jazz, Mr.Tang actively develops orchestral performances and compositions. He has served as a conductor in music classes at various high schools and junior high schools. In 2012, he founded the Tang Jue Philharmonic Orchestra, which has toured and performed throughout Taiwan. His performances in musicals allow music to touch people’s hearts and give them strength.
