Musicall Youth Orchestra of Miami
Founded in response to the growing demand for musical excellence within Miami's vibrant community, the Musicall Youth Orchestra of Miami embarked on its journey in 2015 under the auspices of Musicall, Inc., established in 2013. As the pinnacle of Musicall's commitment to nurturing young talent, this Orchestra represents a culmination of years of dedication to the art of music. At the core of the Musicall Youth Orchestra are some of the most accomplished student musicians in the Miami area. Selected for their exceptional skill and dedication to their craft, these young virtuosos form the ensemble's most advanced youth ensemble. Their talents have consistently propelled them to the top ranks of the All-State Band and Orchestra Competition, earning them recognition as leaders not only within their schools but also in their wider communities. A crowning achievement for the Musicall Youth Orchestra came with their triumph at the esteemed Summa Cum Laude Music Competition held in Vienna, Austria, in 2023, where they claimed the First Prize in the Summa Ensemble Category, marking a momentous milestone in their journey and solidifying their status as a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. United by their passion for music and hailing from diverse backgrounds, the members of the Musicall Youth Orchestra of Miami come together to form a dynamic ensemble that transcends boundaries. Their performances captivate audiences with their artistry and innovation, setting the stage for the future of classical music. Under the expert guidance of Musicall's Artistic Director, Maestra Taimy Balbuzano, and Music Director, Jose Antonio Bornot, the Musicall Youth Orchestra of Miami reaches new heights of musical excellence. With their wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to nurturing young talent, Maestra Balbuzano and Maestro Bornot lead the Orchestra with precision, passion, and artistic vision.
Taimy Balbuzano
Conductor
Taimy Balbuzano is a passionate musician and educator with a rich musical performance, education, and community engagement background. Her journey in music took a significant leap forward during her tenure in Vienna in the summer of 2023, where she had the honor of leading the Musicall Youth Orchestra to a first-place victory at the Summa Cum Laude Youth Music Competition. In 2013, alongside her husband, Taimy co-founded Musicall, a non-profit organization based in Miami, FL. Musicall’s mission has been making music education accessible and enriching for the community. Under her leadership, Musicall has flourished, gaining recognition for its impact on cultural enrichment. The organization’s dedication and effectiveness have been acknowledged through grants from prestigious bodies, including Miami-Dade County, The Children’s Trust, and Tallahassee Cultural Affairs. Taimy’s formal education in music commenced at the National School of Music in Havana, Cuba, where she studied Piano and Choir Conducting. This foundational education laid a robust groundwork for her musical expression and conducting abilities. She is currently pursuing the completion of her Doctoral Degree in the United States. A testament to her leadership and conducting prowess was further demonstrated in 2022 when the Musicall Youth Orchestra participated under her direction in the Festival Orchestre Giovanili in Florence, Italy. The orchestra’s successful performances at this prestigious festival highlighted the young musicians’ talents and Taimy’s effectiveness as a conductor and mentor. This experience added another layer to her already impressive career, showcasing her ability to inspire and lead her orchestra on international stages. Throughout her career, Taimy has demonstrated exceptional piano, choir, and orchestra conducting skills, coupled with a profound ability to lead and inspire her students and peers. Her leadership is characterized by a collaborative spirit and a commitment to excellence in musical education. Fluent in multiple languages, Taimy’s communication skills have been pivotal in her diverse roles, enabling her to connect with a wide range of individuals within the musical community.
